*Dr. Denis Bergeron, Veterinarian / Owner

 

A resident of South Florida since 1967, Denis received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 1986 and then proceeded with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 1990.

Later Dr. Bergeron went on to design and build Park Veterinary Hospital which opened in 2007, with the desire to improve medical care, treatments, diagnostic methodology along with the incorporation of digital telemedicine. Dr. Bergeron is an outstanding and ethical member of AVMA, BCVMA, FVMA, VECCS and AVDS. He currently resides in Pompano Beach with his wife, Diane, their 3 kids, and the family's 3 dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.

*Dr. Janice M. Loss-Ramji, Veterinarian

​

Though she was born in Dover, New Jersey, Janice grew up here in South Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with focus on Animal Biology from the University of Florida in 2005, then went on to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After completing her clinical rotation at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Loss came back home to South Florida and joined our team here at Park Veterinary Hospital in July of 2009.

Dr. Loss is married and shares her home with her husband Al, their daughter, Charlotte, their cat, Jaq, and a rescued Jack Russell, Soulie. When she's not working, Dr. Loss loves spending time with family and working on their house. For fun, she enjoys going to the beach, watching college and professional football and traveling.

*Dr. Lauren Abolafia, Veterinarian

​

Lauren Abolafia was born and raised right here in South Florida, where she graduated from Coral Springs High School. Growing up a Gator fan led Dr. Abolafia to receive her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 2012 and continue her education at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. While attending Veterinary school, Dr. Abolafia gained an interest in integrative medicine and attended the Chi Institute becoming certified in Small Animal Acupuncture.

 

After living in Gainesville for 8 years, Dr. Abolafia decided to return home to South Florida where she joined the Park Veterinary Hospital team in July 2016. In Lauren’s spare time she enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, going to the beach, and watching Gator football with her husband, Adam, as well as spending time with her family and her rescue Lab mix, Zoey.

*Matt, Veterinary Technician

​

Matt began working with animals in 2005. He was actively involved in the husbandry of reptiles and exotics. When Park Veterinary Hospital opened in 2007, Matt joined the team as a technician assistant. Matt thrived and proved to be a valuable asset. Now a veterinary technician, Matt mostly enjoys client education with a special focus on basic husbandry and preventative care. Matt is married and shares his home with a menagerie of species ranging from two dogs, one kitty and an assortment of reptiles.

*Patricia (Patty), Certified Veterinary Technician

​

Certified veterinary technician for over 20 years, Patty received her certification from St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is most interested in client communication (education) on nutrition and prevention.

Patty is married and she shares her home with her husband, two daughters, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 birds, a guinea pig and fish. When not working, she enjoys spending time outside in her garden where she grows many fruits and vegetables.

*Luis, Veterinary Technician

Luis started working for Park Veterinary Hospital in January 2014. He was born in Peru and was a practicing veterinarian there for about 2 years. Luis decided to pursue veterinary medicine licensure in the United States so he moved to South Florida a few years ago. Luis shares a special interest in veterinary surgery and dentistry.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Luis enjoys photography, surfing, and anything that involves nature. Luis is also the daddy of Pita and Pookie, to very spoiled felines he adopted from Park Veterinary Hospital.

*Diane, Administrator

Diane started with Dr. Bergeron over 20 years ago working as a kennel assistant. She literally "worked her way to the top" because she and Dr. B got married in 1998! She became a stay-at-home mom for their 3 children but her love for the animals brought Diane back. On many days, before or after school, you may see their daughters or son lending helping hands. They currently have three 4-legged children as well, all of them rescues. Freya is a German Shepard/Rottweiler mix, Oreo is a Lab/Akita mix, & D.D. is their deaf Cocker Spaniel. They also have 1 hospital house cat named Misha that you may see or hear while visiting with us. When not at the Park Veterinary Hospital, Diane likes to spend her free time with all her children, both 2 & 4 legged.

*Jessica, Client Service Representative

Jessica has been a receptionist since 2009 and joined our practice in early March 2013. She is originally from New York State but grew up down south. Jessica plans to continue her education in the animal field either as a licensed veterinary technician or veterinary lab technician. Jessica shares her home with three cats, Bobo, Nova, and Tallou. Jessica enjoys pet sitting and volunteer work in the animal field. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys an assortment of outdoor events, especially fishing, watching sports, and in her down time, relaxing while listening to music.

*Darlene, Client Service Representative

​

Darlene has been in the animal industry since 1998 and joined our hospital staff May 2014. Darlene has a wide variety of animal work experience that all started at a wildlife sanctuary. While there she received experience with the very small, the gecko, to the large and magnificent, the Siberian Tiger. She eventually decided to work with small animal hospitals and has worked reception since 2002.

Darlene shares her home with her 3 beloved kitties: Alex, Nutmeg, and Bugsy Malone. In her spare time, she enjoys bargain shopping and an all-time favorite, NASCAR.

*Macy, Client Service Representative

​

Macy joined Park Veterinary Hospital as a client service representative in the summer of 2017. She has been in the veterinary industry since 2011, caring for clients and their beloved pets. She homes a 6 lb. Papillon named Bandit and an 80 lb. German Shepherd/wolf mix named Lucky. Macy's favorite past times include taking her four-legged kids on car rides along the beach and practicing her creative writing skills. 

*Jennifer, Technician Assistant

​

Jennifer started working for Park Veterinary Hospital as receptionist late 2014. Her expertise and care for animals led her behind the scenes to our kennel ward, caring for our boarding patients. Her personalized care is one of her favorite aspects of her job.

Jennifer shares her home with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, you can find her participating in outdoor activities like fishing, swimming and four wheeling with her family.

*Shane, Technician Assistant

​

Although born in Babylon, Long Island, Shane grew up here in sunny south Florida. He started working as a kennel technician with PVH in 2015. He worked in the veterinary industry since 2012 and decided he was interested in becoming a surgical technician. So far, Shane has been promoted up to technician assistant with special interests on the treatment plans of the patients.

Shane has a young daughter named Jade Marie, 2 Pitt Bulls, Eddie Brock and M.J. and a cat they call Sasuke. In his free time, Shane enjoys drawing, gaming, skateboarding, and playing basketball.

*Ann, Kennel Technician

​

Compassionate and dedicated, Ann has followed a rewarding career in caring for the well-being and safety of our four-legged friends. She has always been an animal lover; having owned both cats and dogs her entire life. The love in their eyes, the wags of their tails, and the joy they freely give is so rewarding it drives her passion as a kennel technician in this field. The clients and their pets are like a family to her and she takes great pride in her work and it shows. Ann is definitely a wonderful addition to Park Veterinary Hospital.

*Elizabeth, Kennel Attendant

 

Elizabeth has always been interested in the care for a variety of animals. At the young age of 10, Elizabeth began volunteering with a rescue group. Intrigued by animals, she started working for a veterinary hospital. It was then that she decided she loved working with animals. From dogs and cats, to cougars, wallabies and lemurs, Elizabeth has experience working with all types of animal species. She has even worked with a variety of aquatic and farm animals.

 

She is mom to a Papillon named Felix and a Chihuahua named Claudia. She also takes care of four cats and one bearded dragon. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys sculping, painting, and cycling. She was even one of South Florida's few chinchilla breeders.
